About the role

At Pulsely, we are changing the way companies develop and implement their Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) strategy through the use of science and data.

We are looking for a talented CTO to join our team in Lisbon to help us take our D&I solutions to the next level. You will be working closely with entrepreneurs, researchers, designers, and other engineers to build the world’s most powerful D&I data-driven platform.

We are about to start the development of an exciting and ground breaking technology in this industry. Would you like to join the team?

You will be:
• Growing and managing the engineering team
• Defining the technology stack and overall architecture
• Be hands-on and skillful on back-end engineering and devops
• Managing operations, crafting a well defined process and deliver from sprint to sprint
• Tracking performance of team and product with a close relationship with the product manager
• Developing and communicating a technical vision, with colleagues, partners and investors

To get going fast your back-end engineering skills will be critical as while the team grows you will be involved in:
• Developing MVPs and product features 
• Designing and implementing back-end architectures up to RESTful APIs
• Building reusable and testable code for future use
• Executing work that adheres to best practices and consistency standards
• Collaborating with Product and other team members to prioritize work
• Participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge
• Automating packaging, installation, and deployment on a cloud environment
• Optimizing application for speed and scalability

You should bring:
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a startup environment
• Graduate degree in a Computer Science related field or equivalent experience
• Eagerness for lean, pragmatic, and well-tested code
• Strong experience in Continuous Integration/Deployment tools
But also (nice to have):
• Linux and AWS experience
• Good understanding of containerization and orchestration
• Contributions to OSS
• Previous startup experience
• Python and Django experience
